My wife and I have had some bad luck this year with cars. I won't go into details, but let's just say that nearby motorists have been less than careful. It's really been just a few thousand dollars here and there. We get their insurance to pick up the check for the repairs. Very little money out of our bank account.
But at a time when there isn't much time to spare in our daily routines, when our time is worth more than money to us, when an hour lost means we'll be living like pigs for a day because that was the hour we were going to clean up around the living quarters, there needs to be more compensation by the insurance companies than just paying for the damages. Or to be more exact, the damages are to more than the car. There are damages to our lives. Not big damages. But worth compensating.
Here's what I want: I want a minimum of $500-$2,000 for every accident to compensate us for the time we have to take to get the damn thing fixed.
Introducing the HASSLE FEE. It's time has come.
