I've never really understood what all the fuss is about with capital punishment. Guy goes on a 10 state killing and raping spree and we spend hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to rehabilitate the chap. Why? I agree that it's possible that the person could be rehabilitated. But who cares? We have too many people already. Those who can't live here withbout klling their fellow citizens should go away permanently and cost effectively. We should put it on pay-per-view and make it as splendid and swift as possible.

My neighbor is a defense lawyer for guys on death row at San Quentin. I think that's a necessary job. Under our system of law, they deserve a defense. When they're found guilty, however, they deserve to meet their God.
Some say the only motivation for killing the killers is revenge. It doesn't deter. It's not cost effective. It serves no purpose. America is the only English-speaking country that does it. Blah, blah, blah.
I call it societal pruning. It's healthy.
